Founded by His Majesty King Charles III, The King's Trust began in 1976 when the then Prince of Wales invested his Royal Navy severance pay to establish The Prince’s Trust in the UK, guided by a simple belief: every young person deserves the chance to succeed. That belief has since grown into a global movement working in over 20 countries.

In 2019, The Prince’s Trust USA was founded, and in 2024 we proudly became King's Trust USA. This year, we celebrate 50 years of impact and transformation.

Our Mission

King's Trust USA

The King’s Trust is committed to ending youth unemployment and unlocking opportunity for young people. In the United States, our mission is two-fold: to empower young people ages 11–30 from underserved communities through employability and enterprise programs, and to mobilize fundraising support for the global King’s Trust network—ensuring young people everywhere can access opportunities to learn, earn, and thrive.

Our programs tackle the barriers holding young people back by closing the skills, experience, and jobs gaps that stand between potential and opportunity. Two-thirds of participants gain essential job-ready skills, connect with employers for hands-on learning, and more than 70% move into employment, self-employment, or further education.

Through King’s Trust USA Enterprise Challenge, a group of young people from Chicago addressed food insecurity in their community. They created “Crops to Customers,” a business focused on growing and selling affordable, fresh produce using hydroponic technology.

Through research, planning, and teamwork, they developed real entrepreneurial skills. Their journey led them to the 2025 U.S. National Final in New York, where they won, proving the powerful impact of youth-led solutions and opportunity.

Impact Report

We focus on those who need us most, delivering life-changing support where it counts. With 260 million young people globally not in employment, education, or training, the stakes have never been higher. Our goal is to reach one million young people over the next decade—not just helping them into work, but unlocking a generation of change-makers who will shape a stronger future.
